Michael Klapal, owner of Adam’s Cabinet Shop, is a third generation woodworking artisan and craftsman. specializing in hand-crafted custom furniture, designed and built to the desired specifications of each client, using carefully sourced quality materials. Adam’s Cabinet Shop was founded in 1958 by Joseph Klapal. a Czech immigrant to the United States that learned his craft from his father in Czechoslovakia. Joseph refined and honed his skills in workshops in Vienna, Austria and Washington, D.C. before establishing his own workshop in Maryland. there he trained and passed his old-world skills and craftsmanship knowledge to his son, Michael. Over the years father and son worked together specializing in bespoke furniture, cabinetry builds and installations. WORKING WITH both professional designers and direct to consumers. In recent years, Michael has taken the helm and modernized the operations of the business. while being careful to maintain the exceptionally high quality and stunningly detailed work product that Adam’s Cabinet Shop has become known for. Michael has added a computer numerical control (“CNC”) machine to the workshop’s arsenal of old school hand tools, to support the modernization and execution of certain projects. The designing software provides for the ablity of 3-D computer generated drawings. THIS allows for visualization, customization, and adjustments with ease. This provides clients with increased accuracy, the ability to quickly make adjustments, and view 3-D images to help visualize how the custom designs will look in their space.
